Biography

Dr. Boon is dual board certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery as well as Sleep medicine and specializes in treating disorders affecting, sleep apnea, nose, sinus, voice and swallowing with Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA. With his background in Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine, he takes an individualized approach to treating sleep disorders and sleep apnea. Dr. Boon was one of the pioneers of upper airway stimulation for treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and remains of the most experienced surgeons in the world. Dr. Boon is the residency program director of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck surgery and serves as the Educational Vice-Chair in the department. He is actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. He has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on topics ranging from obstructive sleep apnea to surgical treatment of swallowing disorders. He has numerous publications and is co-editor of the first book detailing treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with upper airway stimulation.
