Biography

Dr. Fried has been a member of the Magee staff since 1989.  He attended Yale Medical School where he received his medical degree and Hofstra University in New York where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology with additional studies in chemistry, biology and economics.  Dr. Fried is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation with additional board certifications in Pain Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.


Dr. Fried has twice received the Jefferson Rehabilitation Residency Attending of the Year award for teaching. He was awarded the First Annual Robert H. Condon Teaching Award that was presented to a Faculty Member who demonstrated outstanding contributions to patient care and resident education by senior residents from the Department of Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University.  He also received the Gerald J. Herbison, MD Award for Mentorship – Presented Annually to Faculty who Demonstrate Exceptional Commitment to Mentoring Residents, and the Dean’s Citation for Significant Contributions to the Advancement of Education at Jefferson Medical College. He has frequently been voted as one of Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Docs, he also been one of the Best Doctors in America, and on the Castle Connolly list of America’s Top Doctors.
