Biography
Dr. Andrews trained at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and completed a one year fellowship in Neuro-oncology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. At the inception of his academic career, he received a prestigious Physician Scientist Award conferred by the National Cancer Institute to pursue basic research devoted to the molecular biology of gliomas for a 5 year period. Dr Andrews is recognized as a world leader in radiosurgery and established the first Radiosurgery Program in the Delaware Valley in 1991. He has lectured throughout the world as an invited speaker on radiosurgery topics and is noted for techniques in stereotactic radiotherapy which he has pioneered and has described successful treatments of tumors involving or near special sensory nerves such as the optic nerve or cochlear nerve.
