Get to know the Wills Eye Centers of Excellence

As a leading ophthalmic specialty medical center, Wills Eye offers patients from around the world a variety of centers of excellence. These practices focus on developing leading-edge treatment for a number of eye diseases and conditions.

Centers for Advanced Cataract Surgery

We offer a full range of surgical options including the latest laser cataract technologies, surgical implants, and diagnostic imaging.

Ocular Genetics

Genetic eye disease is one of the leading causes of blindness and includes disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt disease, hereditary optic neuropathy, pediatric cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, and albinism.

Along with care for patients who have ocular genetic diseases, we also treat a variety of genetic disorders which affect other areas of the body along with the eye like neurofibromatosis, mitochondrial disorders, and Marfan syndrome. Together we participate in comprehensive evaluation and management of the patient as well as joint research efforts.

Pediatric Ophthalmology

Wills Eye’s pediatric ophthalmology practice draws patients from around the world. We know children aren’t miniature adults. The management of pediatric eye problems requires special knowledge and skills. Even before a child can speak, pediatric ophthalmologists can determine what a child sees, if he or she needs eyeglasses or contact lenses, and if any problems exist with the eyes.

Wills Eye Strabismus Center

We are committed to providing comprehensive care for children and adults with strabismus, amblyopia, and nystagmus. Patients at the Wills Eye Center for Strabismus receive the highest quality of ophthalmic evaluation in a compassionate, patient-centered environment.

Thanks to our talented and skilled physicians and staff who are dedicated to improving and preserving sight, we continue to shape the science and medicine of ophthalmology.
